Keep Calm and Drink Tea. Lemon and Calendula Tea That Is!

I have been feeling a bit under the weather in the last few days. My tropical genes is struggling with the sudden chilly winter blast this last week. I started to have a bit of sniffle and cough.

This homemade immunity booster tea is my go to drink to help alleviate the cold symptoms. I made quite a few at the start of winter to prepare for this kind of situation and we have been brewing them as needed.
I added a few dried Calendula flowers in it. It was very refreshing and I'm glad to report that I am now feeling better.

Lemon Honey Icypoles

My 5 year old had recently started school and he seemed to take on this icypoles craze. He asked me to make icypoles for at home. So, it seemed appropriate for me to prepare a beneficial icypoles during this time of virus crisis.

I recently bought this icypoles mould from Avanti and last weekend was the first time I tried to use them.
I decided to make honey and lemon icypoles.

Lemon rind was peeled and drying at the moment, for herbal tea.
The lemon juice:
Add honey to taste:
Combine honey, lemon juice and add water:
Pour into moulds:
Cose lids and freeze:
Lastly, washed the seeds and dry. I'm going to try to plant them. When life gives you lemons, you take as much as you can out of them!

Immunity Booster Floral Herbal Drink

Just a bit of natural immunity booster in the wake of uncertain times. This is from the batch of orange, lemon and turmeric that I prepared, packed and froze a few weeks ago.

I brewed this for my 5 year old and added some honey. He drank it really fast and said "Yummm!!"

For mine, I added some dried olive leaves, calendula flowers and rose petals.

Kids Friendly Natural Immunity Booster (Orange Based)

This is my kids-friendly natural immunity booster that works for my five year old. I started giving this to him since he was around 4 years old.
The combination is orange based, so we refer to it as "juice", but it has ginger and turmeric in it.

For this recipe, I used:
3 oranges
1 lemon
around 4 cm of fresh ginger (can be replaced with minced ginger in jar)
3 tablespoon of turmeric powder (adjust to your liking)
When serving, add honey to your liking.

I cut up the oranges and lemon into roughly segment of 1.5-2 cm, doesn't have to be precise.
And the ginger, I cut the up into tiny cubes, as small as possible.
Scatter the turmeric on the cut up fruits and mix to combine.
Put them in small to medium size jars or containers and put straight into freezer.
When needed, defrost it and add 2-3 tablespoons of the mix into 500ml boiling water. Boil for 7-10 minutes, strain and add honey.

For adult, I also add a few (5-6) dried olive leaves from my garden into the boiling water as well.
The olive leaves will add bitterness, so it won't be kids friendly.
